House of the Painter at Darvina St., 11(Дарвiна, 11 in Ukrainian, Дарвина, 11 in Russian) - built in 1910 according to the design of the architect Gaush for Charles Blackie - director of the Gelferich Sade, which will later become the "Hammer and Sickle" plant.
History
For some time, Charles Blackie was also the British vice-consul. Rumor has it that he was in favor of Queen Victoria and even corresponded with her from Kharkiv (however, it is obvious that not from the building at 11 Darvina, since Queen Victoria died in 1901). Blackie owned the building until 1917.
