A four-apartment building was built according to the project by Rzhepishevsky and I.I. Tenne in 1915, three years after the construction of another tenement house by E.D. Moldavsky on Darvina, 15.

In 1917, this mansion was bought by doctor Gechtman, after nationalization it housed the Office of the Commissioner of the People's Commissariat for Foreign Affairs of the RSFSR under the Council of People's Commissars of the Ukrainian SSR.

Since 1934 it was the Doctor's House and, as they said, Gechtman got the opportunity to visit the building that had previously belonged to him. In the post-war years, it was occupied at various times by the district committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine and the city committee of the Ukrainian Komsomol.
